Here are Some Top Clothing Items for Boutiques

to Sell Under $5

When it comes to buying and/or selling, price point matters. Who doesn’t love a good sale? It’s pretty common knowledge that the better the sale, the lower the price, the more we as humans will buy. A hundred dollar pair of pants? Absolutely not. However, twenty items all for $5 dollars each? Sounds like a great deal to me. For boutique owners and shoppers alike, take note, having items priced under $5 is a sure fire way to ensure repeat, happy customers. Of course, there is a possible downside to a lower price point, and that is quality. A too low price point could have the opposite effect on customers. There could be the chance that items too low would make someone think there is something wrong with the product. You want to make sure that despite the $5 price tag, the clothing item you are putting on the shelves is still a highly sought after and useful item. So, what are some top clothing items for boutiques to sell for just $5?

For me, the number one answer would be a camisole. Personally I believe that a girl can never have too many camisoles. This is also a perfect item to list under $5, because it will create the need for multiple color purchases. Camisoles are used for many purposes, so in turn there are many varieties. Whether they are worn for layering, as an undershirt, with a cardigan, in a business suit, or just by itself. Silk, lace, cotton, there are also many different fabrics available, hinting at the various reasons for wearing one. Want a casual night out with the girls?

A thin strap silk camisole paired with a string necklace, jeans, and heels is a great choice. Perhaps you need to be a bit more professional in the office? You can also opt for your trusted silk camisole but covered with a fitted blazer. Take a cotton, plain camisole and wear it under a sweater. Lace trimmed camisoles are perfect to wear with a cute cardigan, or layered with a low cut t-shirt. There really is a cami for occasions so with a $5 price tag, no customer will just purchase one and done.

I mentioned how a string necklace makes the perfect pairing for a silk camisole.

However jewelry in general makes for the best accessories. They really set the tone for the outfit. Having accessories available in your boutique is a certifiable way to increase items in customers' carts. And accessories under $5? Even better. Sometimes it’s hard for clothes to be considered a justifiable add on to an already hefty shopping cart. However a cute anklet or toe ring to go with the five sundresses that you just purchased? Well that just makes sense. You could even create style suggestions before checkout. A customer is purchasing a quarter sleeve cardigan? Match it with a bangle bracelet that costs just under $5. I happen to think tear drop earrings go perfectly with a warm and stylish winter sweater.

Socks are also a great item suitable for a low price point. A customer is checking out a pair of ankle boots? Well then it looks like they would highly appreciate the suggestion of a $5 pair of warm ankle socks. And what’s a girl to do with a pair of leather knee high boots without a

pair of knee high socks? When it comes to lower priced items in a boutique, the best way to ensure success is having varieties. Make it so that a customer couldn’t possibly be content with just one. They need the shirt in multiple colors. Why just get one toe ring with you would get two? Can't decide between silk or cotton? Get both. Don’t be scared of a $5 price point, for those are the items that will be flying off the shelves.
