Comfort always gets treated like it’s optional, like it’s something you think about later when everything else is handled. Even those who are trying to lose weight, well, a lot of them make the mistake of just trying to do the whole “getting comfortable with being uncomfortable”, but really, that’s going to only make old habits come back rather than die hard. That basically brings low morale to yourself, too.
But honestly, comfort is such a big part of health. The body literally sends signals when something feels off, and yeah, a lot of people ignore those signals because they think pushing through is somehow admirable. They say “Beauty is pain,” but no, absolutely not, it’s really not.
You Deserve Daily Comfort
Being uncomfortable all the time makes every little thing feel harder. No, really, everything, and you don’t get comfortable with it either. Like, sitting at work, walking around the grocery store, trying to sleep, driving, all of it becomes this annoying experience. You really do become super miserable. And sure, maybe it starts as something tiny, like a bit of shoulder tension or a bra strap that feels like it’s cutting into skin. But over time, that builds into bigger issues. The body adjusts in weird ways, posture shifts to avoid discomfort, and yeah, then a whole new set of aches shows up.
It Affects Your Mood
Plus, when someone doesn’t feel physically good, it definitely affects their mood. It’s tough to feel confident or happy when a part of the body is basically begging for a break all day long. It’s wild how much comfort and confidence are connected. Well, that, and it’s hard not to be hateful at other people, too.
There’s Seriosuly Nothing Shallow About It
Granted, that should probably be obvious, right? But really, it’s true, so a lot of people say stuff like, “It’s fine, I’ll just deal with it.” Okay, sure, but why though? No, really, why do that to yourself? The whole point of health is to feel good in your body. For example, if you’re dealing with back pain all the time and you know it’s from your breast, then why suffer? Why not look into a breast reduction instead? It’s like that; there’s nothing wrong with taking steps to actually feel good. The same for how you dress, why wear uncomfortable heels when you have tennis shoes, right?
Think About Your Physical and Mental Health
It was already mentioned how this all affects your mood, but it still goes far beyond that, though. If you’re uncomfortable and in pain every day, you’re just going to want to give up; you’re just not going to really want to do anything. You just suffer, be it in silence or not. It’s not like you can sleep all that well or even make healthy enough choices if you’re uncomfortable and in pain. You need to keep that in mind as well.
Bigger Fixes are Fine
Sometimes, Tylenol or ibuprofen just doesn’t do the trick, as unfortunate as that is. But it’s fine to try and do more. An example was mentioned earlier about breasts and even shoes, but it’s really going to depend on your situation. Sometimes stretches help, sometimes it’s not enough, sometimes it's physical therapy instead, or just talking to your doctor about what can be done. But usually there’s bigger fixes out there, and you deserve to try them.
