BBQ Enthusiast? Try These Ideas

Are you a bit of a BBQ enthusiast? If so, you’re not alone. For many people, it is the best way of cooking, perhaps because it is so similar to what our ancestors would have done.

But which recipes should you be exploring? What’s going to really make a difference to your experience?

Here are some ideas.

BBQ Nachos

If you haven’t tried BBQ nachos yet, you’re missing out. These are one of the most delicious options out there.

What’s more, you can make them into a dessert. You don’t just have to eat them with melted cheese and tomato salsa.

What a lot of people like to do is top them with pound cake slices, cinnamon and grilled pineapple. This combination is delicious and also incredibly filling, making it a great option.

Watermelon Steaks

On a similar theme, you might also want to try watermelon steaks. When you expose this fruit to the grill, it takes on more of a steak-like quality, completely changing how it feels in the mouth. Just brush it with some salt and balsamic vinegar for the full effect. The result is something sweet, salty and totally delicious. You have to try it if you haven’t had it before.

Pulled Pork

BBQ pulled pork is another ingredient you must try. It’s just delightful and even better than regular pulled pork because of the smokiness.

If you can pair it with a bespoke pulled pork barbecue sauce, that’s even better. This combination can be a great way to make the most of the food and create a moreish and delicious experience.

Charred Octopus

Charred octopus is another BBQ option you might want to explore in the future. Again, it is a little unusual, but well worth trying if you enjoy seafood.

If you can mix it with chimichurri, that’s even better. Just grill each side for around 3 minutes on a high heat. That’s all you need to do.

Smoked Queso Dip

Queso just means “cheese” in Spanish. But it has a special meaning in the Southern US, referring to Velveeta with chorizo and Rotel, and perhaps some smoked jalapenos.

The smoking process takes a long time (usually an hour). But once it’s done, you have something you just can’t fake. Use it for dipping chips, meat, and anything else you can think of that needs a savory twist.

Pineapple BBQ Pork Belly With Burnt Ends

If you’re feeling really adventurous, you could have a go at pineapple BBQ pork belly with burnt ends. This option is great for anyone who loves burnt meat with a lot of charring.

Just cube the pork belly, smoke for three hours, and then add the other ingredients and BBQ sauce and cook for another hour on a low heat.

Beer Chicken

Lastly, you might want to take a look at trying beer chicken. Stuff the cavity full of garlic and rosemary and then smoke the bird. After that, add the can of beer and allow the chicken to cook with the stout for about two hours.
