Parragon Books Book Buddies July Review

Really excited about this months books from Parragon Books for the month of July. The first book we received was the Money Gami not really a book but more like a box set that includes a step by step book that teaches you different ways to fold money into different shapes and a lot more. Of course my children are a little young for this but I find this to be perfect for ages 10 and up me and my husband had a fun time with this kit and tried to make all sorts of things. I really do think this is fun to do and the kids loved watching us. Retails for $12.99.

This great box set includes everything you need to start folding money-gami gifts, tips, or pretty ‘wallet ornaments’. Including 56 sheets of currency paper, designed in seven different currencies, to practice with; 3 specially-sized papers to make your own wallet; and a beautifully illustrated book with detailed step-by-step instructions for 12 spectacular easy-to-fold origami designs.
From simple folds to a jumping ‘Big-Foot Leaping Frog’ this book has a design for everyone. Want to give a house-warming present then use the ‘Home Sweet Home’ fold to transform your currency and give it a personal touch.

The other book that we were able to review was the Disney Boy's Big Book of Fun this book definitely caught my boys eye he is so into toy story and monster inc this book is really nice and well put together it has a lot of activities, games, and comic stories. He might not be old enough for all the stuff in this book but we can read the stories and work with him on the other stuff offered in this book. His face just lit up when he saw this.

We absolutely love this book and will be using it for a long time.

Step into a world of adventure with the Disney characters! Race with Lightning and Francesco, color in the Toy Story gang, learn about life at Monsters University, and enjoy Cars comic stories! With more than 125 activities, games, and comic stories from Disney Magazines, these books are a must-have.

ONE STEP AT A TIME - Hugo the Happy Starfish - Children's Ebook Review

Another great book from Hugo Books this one called one step at a time. I love the message it sends to children to never give up and to keep trying even if  you feel down and like you want to give up. It teaches you about emotions and how children should handle their feelings we love this book and all the other books made by hugo.

Hugo is a little starfish with a big sense of adventure. One day he finds an empty candy wrapper with a picture of a huge chocolate mountain. Usually when Hugo finds trash in the ocean it upsets him but this time what he found made him curious. Hugo discovers that his chocolate mountain is in fact a real mountain, which is called the Matterhorn and is located in Switzerland.
He decides to set off on a journey to find this mountain – a huge challenge for a little starfish!

Hugo learns to take one step at a time and to enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
Join Hugo as he finds the secret of perseverance when the road gets difficult.
ONE STEP AT A TIME is a story about the need for perspective, whatever mountains we face.
This book is the perfect way to each kids to divide big challenges into little chunks and to take things one step at a time.

I find this book a great tool in teaching children about their feelings and how to cope with them.

Hugo The Happy Starfish It's Good To Be Me Review

Another great one from Hugo The Happy StarFish. This book is about happiness and how it begins within. Teaching children about making people happy and how that can make you happy. My kid's love these books and love me reading them to them. Also they have such vivid pictures to go along with the story and I believe that captures the children's attention as well.

Happiness Begins Within

Hugo is a little starfish with a big heart. Every day he makes other creatures happy – and doing so makes Hugo happy. One day however, he begins to feel small and ugly, convinced that nobody likes him. When granted some magic wishes he decides to change a few things he doesn’t like about himself.

Hugo learns a great lesson and once those changes are made he wishes he could be himself again.

Join Hugo on his journey as he discovers that being himself is the best way to be – and the only way to be happy.

IT’S GOOD TO BE ME! is a story about the importance of self-esteem when striving to be a happy and successful person.

Hugo’s story is a good way to teach kids about having a healthy self-esteem and to be happy with the way they are.

This book is a great way to teach APPRECIATION and the FIVE SENSES.

Meet HUGO, a little starfish with a big heart and a curious mind.
In very story of the series he learns about a different character trade/ attitude.

The first book of HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH is an
Award-Winning Finalist in the CHILRDEN’S MIND/ BODY/ SPIRIT category of the USA “Best Books 2011” Awards.
